This week you have the chance once again to edit a file from the Nikon D800. I went ahead and saved it as a DNG file so that you can open it with just about any editing software.

This shot comes form the Lighting Boot Camp from this weekend. Sarah is the model as some of you may remember from one of my 5 min portraits. We used a three light set up to make this image.

It looks a little flat right now but I can not wait to see what you do to this image to make it go boom. Go ahead and do your regular edits as well as the off the wall photoshop edits.

    It is about the EDITING its not about the PHOTO thus why its the RAW EDIT. The point of it is to take not perfect images and see what you can do with it.

    Why not spend the time and nail the lighting and the expression on the spot? Make the photo happen, dont create it later in post. I just think for four lights its rather uninteresting. You also always tell everyone not to crop but now you are saying you can make this into portrait? I know sometimes I can revisit a photo and see something I never saw before but this just looks like a shot I would do before I get my light powers dialed in.

    It's not your photo.. it's someone else's taken for the purpose of editing. If you don't like the photo then that's your personal opinion so watch a different video with a "good photograph" in it, if it's such a personal deal-breaker for you.

    Hi, have you tried "MagicSFXphoto" (just search on Google for it ...)? On their website you will find a useful free video demonstrating the best way to make fantastic photos. This made it possible for Joe to create photos which leave you with a jaw-dropping-effect while you look at them. Hopefully it works for you also.
