A Documentary on the mount pleasant building flats in Dublin during the late 1960s. These buildings were one of the most run down, tightly cramped, poverty stricken areas in Dublin at this time. Many people who lived here could not afford to pay their rent in their previous homes so their only alternative was to move into these accommodations, for the others these flats were merely all that they could ever afford to live in.

And my spoiled brat of an Irish Generation cry 'cause they havn't enough money to 'party' all weekend now or go on 4 or 5 holidays instead of 'only' 2 or 3. Recession my arse, God bless the Irish of the past and a better class of people in my opinion than the drunken, materialistic 'sex in the city' shits we have all around us now.

I feel sorry for the children. For God's sake, practice birth control. Or is that not allowed?

It is not normal in capitalist countries to get a roof if you cannot afford a normal rent. They did. And if they knew they had only 1 room available, with no beds, why did they decide to have 6-7 children? Their choice.

they have large families so they can live off the mickey money, the children's allowance money.
plus they are mainly illiterates or semi illits. they can not read the instructions on a condom label.
inthos days, if you had five kids, the council was legally required to house you and your little feckers and your husband.
