(Minghui.org) I have witnessed many people respond defensively upon hearing criticisms of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They would view the criticism as something offensive and reflexively label the critics as being anti-China or unpatriotic.
If a government wishes to serve its people diligently, won’t hearing the people’s criticisms help them to do so? If citizens want to monitor their government in an effort to improve it, isn’t it normal for them to communicate criticisms?
Those of us who have grown up in China should think about the following issues, which I consider to be common sense.
There Is No Equivalency Between the CCP and China
China has a 5,000 year history that includes the rise and fall of many dynasties. The CCP has only existed for several decades.
For thousands of years the Chinese people respected heaven and divinity, and believed in the virtues taught by Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. The CCP worships atheism and Marxism, which practice the opposite of these traditional Chinese values.
Marx wrote in The Communist Manifesto that “A spectre is haunting Europe - the spectre of communism.” This tells us that the CCP is an outsider that seized the land of China and stole its name. The spectre of communism is a demon that went to China and destroyed its culture in the name of preserving it. The CCP no longer respects heaven and divinity, but uses such ideology to justify its reign in China.
For a Chinese person who truly loves China, we must first be clear that the CCP is not equivalent to China, nor can it represent China. One does not have to love the CCP in order to love China.
Public Servant or Master?
The CCP claims that it is a servant to the people and the people are its master. In reality, the Chinese people do not speak or act for themselves, their ideology must conform to that of the CCP’s, and what they do or how they make a living must be approved by them as well. When their thoughts and actions go against the will of the CCP, they will be treated as dissidents and their rights denied and their lives threatened.
Think about it, what kind of servant acts like a master? Can he take his master’s life at will, while at the same time ask the master for love and support?
Normally a master can fire a servant if the servant performs poorly. Yet, the CCP, while “serving” the Chinese people, controls their voice, deceives them, and launches various political movements to terrorize them. In the end, the “master” is forced to act according to the “servant’s” will, so who really is the master?
The CCP came to power in our country, enforcing its reign with lies and violence. Our fear of this power inflames its arrogance, and believing in its lies nurtures its wickedness.
Our Ancestors Spoke Correctly about Heavenly Signs
The respect for heaven and divinity in traditional Chinese culture leaves us with many classic stories of divine miracles. This outsider that came only decades ago tried to inject us with atheism, and called these stories “superstitious and backward.”
The CCP claimed that there are no such things as “heaven and man are connected,” “strange celestial signs are warning of good and bad fortune,” and “good is rewarded and evil is punished.” We were told that these concepts were made up by our ancestors who did not know science. This could not be further from the truth! People in most developed countries believe in gods, among them are renowned scientists.
Even a former CCP leader believed in these concepts. After a meteor shower took place in Jilin City in 1976, Mao Zedong had a conversation with his personal nurse, Meng Jinyun. Mao said that “when big rocks fall from the sky, a powerful man dies.” He said, “In China we called this ‘heaven and man are connected.’” When Meng brushed off the idea and said, “I don’t believe it, it’s all superstition made up by the ancient people,” Mao asked her, “Why would the ancient people make up things like this?” Mao was right, and he died that year.
In times of chaos, we frequently observe earthquakes, floods, wild fires and gusty winds. Strange astronomical phenomena such as “blood moon,” “seven stars lining up,” and “multiple Suns” keep appearing in front of us. Our ancestors have told us that “heaven and man are one,” “to follow divine will,” and “if mankind doesn’t fix things, heaven will.” Thus, we should realize that heaven is warning us that evil abounds in the world today, and if we don’t correct our paths, punishment will follow.
These astronomical signs and natural disasters are telling us that we must choose good over evil and define our future. I hope that we can all choose wisely and not side with evil. Let us sincerely void the vicious vows we took growing up, and choose a bright future for ourselves.
